Fishy Tastings – Sabich Sandwich in Vienna
Welcome to Fishy Tastings. A food23 spin-off where our friend Fischi strolls around Vienna and tastes street food.
Today, Fischi visits the Campus of WU, Vienna's University of Economics and Business, to try the famous Israeli Breakfast, the Sabich sandwich.
A few weeks ago we at food23 went to Tel Aviv and tried the original version of Sabich.
Now, Fischi wants to know if Vienna can keep up with that. We came along.
The facts:
Where: Bashly, Welthandelsplatz 1/D4, 1020 Vienna.
What: Sabich, the Israeli breakfast sandwich.
The Ingredients: We've got humus, eggplant paste, eggs, roasted eggplants, green salad, falafel, and cabbage pickled in vinegar. On top we have mango sauce and yoghurt sauce.
Price: We are at 6 EUR. In 2023, a totally legitimate price point.
When to go: Keep in mind Bashly's opening hours: 11 am – 3 pm, Monday til Friday. Kind of odd opening hours.
The Taste: Watch the clip to find out:
Check out Bashly's website to find their second restaurant in 1090 Vienna.
